Brooke Christa Shields (born May 31, 1965) is a famous American actress and model. At age 12, she was a child model. She won critical acclaim for her performance in Louis Malle's film Pretty Baby (1978). She continued modeling throughout her teens and starred in several dramas throughout the 1980s such as The Blue Lagoon (1980) and Franco Zeffirelli's Endless Love (1981). In 1983, Shields left her modeling career to go to Princeton University where she received an undergraduate degree in Romance Languages. In the 90s, Shields returned to acting and appeared in minor role in films. She also appeared in the NBC sitcoms Suddenly Susan (1996-202000), which was nominated for two Golden Globe Awards. Lipstick Jungle (2008-2009) was her second nomination. In 2017, Shields returned to NBC as a key recurring part in Law & Order: Special Victims Unit during the show's 19th season. Since 2014, Shields has voiced Beverly Goodman in the Adult Swim animated series Mr. Pickles and its spinoff Momma Named Me Sheriff. Brooke Christa Shields is a New Yorker born on May 31st, 1965 in Manhattan. She is the daughter and businessman Frank Shields (1941-1903). According to William Addams Reitwiesner research, Shields had ancestral connections to several noble families from Italy. These are namely (in chronological order of descent from 1355 to 1965) the Gattilusi-Palaiologos-Savoy, Grimaldi, Imperiali, Carafa, Doria, Doria-Pamphili-Landi, Chigi-Albani, and Torlonia dynasties. Her paternal grandmother was the Italian noblewoman Marina Torlonia di Civitella-Cesi, she was the daughter of an Italian prince and an American socialite. Her uncle was Alessandro Torlonia from Italy, who was married to Infanta Beatriz of Spain. The family of Teri paid Frank an amount of money to end her pregnancy.
